How to Use a Vibrator

Ah, the vibrator. Bringing happiness and orgasms to women across the globe. A vibrator is, in essence, a device that vibrates and is used for sexual gratification.
Vibrators come in countless varieties from the standard no-frills, one speed, smooth phallic style, to dual actions (internal stimulation and clitoral stimulation), to rabbit vibrators, to even triple action versions (internal, clitoral and anal stimulation). All of these items have one very important thing in common – they vibrate and provide nice, buzzing action for your most sacred spaces.
However common a vibrator may be, there are more ways than one to use one. So, whether you are new to vibrator use, or have a few in your toy chest, here are the basics to using a vibrator.
BEFORE YOU USE YOUR VIBRATOR
Clean Your Toy – Whether you have a new toy or are pulling a favorite off the bench, it is very important that you wash your vibrator before any session. Using warm water and a standard soap, make sure you wash all the external surfaces being mindful of the cap where the batteries are inserted. If the toy is waterproof you can submerge it in soapy water. If not, you can use a special toy cleaner or, antibacterial wipes. Clean again post play. The better care you take of your vibrator, the longer it will last.

Prepping – Get familiar with your new vibrator’s features. Does it have only one speed or many? How do you work the features (vibration, speed, pulsing, gyration). What type of material is it – for lube-pairing purposes. You never use silicone lubricant with a silicone, jelly or realskin (cyberskin) toy. Make sure your batteries are inserted and not eroding (this happens when you leave them in post play). Then, get comfortable, light some candles and get ready to play.

Basics of Vibrator Play
Standard vibrators are often used for clitoral stimulation because it is the surest way to achieve that orgasm. Even though you will want to explore more than just your clitoris (as stated above), you definitely need to know how to go about it. Most standard vibes have their vibrations mostly on the end or tip of the toy. This means that directing the end of the vibrator on the clitoris is the best way to achieve orgasm. Turn it to a speed that you find pleasing, then slowly work around your clitoris, perhaps taking little passes over it as you warm yourself up. Once you feel the orgasm building, place the vibrators tip directly on your clitoris and either hold it still or move it slightly (your preference) and allow your orgasm to build.
Explore More . . . Than Your Clitoris
Most women tend to go right for the hot spot, their clitoris, because that is the fastest way to get to orgasm. However, when you take time to explore more than just that area you will discover that your nipples, inner thighs, belly, labia or even anal opening will react very favorably to vibrator stimulation. Try to tease yourself before going for the bulls-eye and you will find that you are more aroused.
External vs. Internal
One of the most appealing things about a vibrator is that you can use it externally (clitoral or other body part stimulation) or internally (penetration in the vagina). Some women prefer only external stimulation and completely neglect internal stimulation. I say, give both a shot. Going back and forth between internal and external stimulation can build arousal and provide a more intense orgasm. While some vibrators will provide both stimulation’s simultaneously (dual actions), you can get a similar result by angling the vibrator so that it teases your clitoris during internal stimulation. The video below will help you to see this in action!
Go For More – Orgasms!
Vibrators often increase the chance of a woman having more than one orgasm because of their powerful and direct vibrations. While it may be a little uncomfortable to continue stimulation right after the first orgasm, you can re-direct the stimulation to areas adjacent to the clitoris. This will help to maintain the arousal, while letting the sensitivity of the clitoris become less intense. Then, start again with the direct stimulation and build the next orgasm.
Edge Yourself
For the more advanced vibrator user, edging is the act of getting close to orgasm, then backing off the stimulation a bit to come back down from impending orgasm, then resuming stimulation again and repeating the process until you simply cannot hold off orgasm any longer. This ultimately results in an extremely powerful orgasm and can aid in achieving multiple orgasms down the road. The trick is to stop at just the right moment. Too soon and you won’t get the same build up and too late and you are already starting to orgasm and stopping would negate the entire orgasm. Experiment with this.
